The name Distinctive Pools ("Distinctive Pools and Spas") was originally established by Barry Trewin in Melbourne in 1986. Barry had started in the construction business in 1962 gaining much practical experience dealing with concrete and plumbing, while his wife Sue had past experience as an industrial engineer.

Barry sold Distinctive Pools and Spas in 1993 to its current owners, to move to Brisbane and set up the wholesale & distribution of specialty pool equipment, interiors etc.

In time, Barry and Sue decided to get back into pool building as there appeared to be a great gap in the industry for innovative pools of the future. Having a total of 34 years' pool-building and product distribution experience it made sense to make the transition.

Our four staff have around 50 years' experience between us.Sue maintains the operations of the office and Showroom, and our son Cody started with Distinctive Pools in 2008 to ensure the company remains a FAMILY BUSINESS for many years to come.
